2:51 pm - Curious...

What do you think about light-up lawn ornaments, are they lawn ornaments?
In that case, what makes a lawn ornament a "lawn ornament"?
Do you have favorite (sorts or individual) ornaments?

The reawakened activity in this community has coaxed my curiosity out of the tool shed and these are a few of the questions that have been ambling around in my head.

As far as the community goes, any requests, suggestions, ideas, or whatever are more than welcome, anything and everything, so long as it is in support of the community, which I do not doubt it would be anyways. I feel very strange saying that because it is, after all, a community and a pretty equal ground for everyone. It has never really occurred that there's a sort of "responsibility" as a "maintainer" or whatnot. I apologize for my negligence and for anything that may have gone undone or left unmentioned because of it.

And on that note, I think I should be honest: I was unaware that there was such a devoted love of lawn ornaments and I, myself, don't have flamingo one on my lawn; but I have been more than pleasantly surprised by the love of flamingos, gnomes, along with all the other fantastic objects, oddities, and high profile lawn-personalities. The "Lawn Ornament Mafia" began as a highly amusing and delightful scheme between a friend and me, the story behind it is a bit ridiculous and the spontaneous creation of this community is just as much so. I guess it was a good thing though - I do not know of many (if any) other such communities -leastwise it's another opportunity for more flamingos to be rescued and more fans of flamingos to unite.

10:32 pm - And I just noticed...

So today when I went with my granpa to pick up my great granma I passed by my dad's house. Well he lives in a efficiency and the landlord is kinda related to me. As I pass by their corner I noticed they have about 5 or more flamingos and other lawn goodies in their lawn... I wanna get them LOL. I mean I don't think they'll miss one ;). Yeah... so anyone good at this sort of stuff?

Well, I cannot say that I advocate stealing lawn ornaments... though I do not judge... I will say that I do truly apreicate lawn ornaments and the weirder the better. I have to say that I favor gnomes over flamingos but an awesome junk garden (as I like to call them) would incorporate them both-- and then some. Here in Texas one might employ old rusty bikes, cactus, Dr Pepper signs, Lone State stars and yes, a gnome or two, in their garden of junk. It is like a living and breathing sculpture that changes on the whims of their (probably senior citizen) owners. Some day I will have one.

Looking for a job at the mall. wish me luck everyone! I want to work at a clothing store so i can get employee discount on somethhing I'll be able to use. I wish it was easier to find work. at least if i work at the mall, i can keep my eye out for flamingo goodies, which will also help me waste away all my money :)

2:03 pm - My name is Jenni

I am Jenni. I am 19, and have been collecting and liberating flamingos for about three years now. the first flamingo i liberated was named Wagglet, and I liberated him from a yard belonging to a punkrock singer named Noah Wagner, lead singer of Daycare Swindlers. She wears a lacy bow on her long neck. The second flamingo I liberated was named Punksure, since he was once used for target practice by an ex-boyfriend. He's got some holes, but they ooze with love.

I own about 80 flamingo items, some of which are still packed away from my recent move to Maryland. they range from socks to statues, I have P.J.s and dashboard bobblers, and lots of others. I also have a tattoo on my right arm, which i designed myself, and adore very much.

I am a devoted flamingo-ist, and will continue to liberate them until the day i die :)

P.S. Keep posting, and so will I.
